GEO Rocket (“the app”, “we”, “us”) helps Shopify merchants understand and improve how
AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode discover
their store. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how we use it, and the
choices you have. It applies to merchants who install GEO Rocket and to visitors of
stores that use it.
Information we access
Store profile — shop name, domain, plan and the contact email, used to run the app and send service notices.
Products & collections — titles, descriptions, prices and images, used to build your llms.txt file, structured data and AI Visibility Score.
Online store & theme — public pages and theme details, read with AI-bot user agents to check what AI assistants can see.
Order attribution data — for the optional AI order-attribution feature we read an order’s referring source / UTM and its total to show which sales came from AI assistants. We do not access or store customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.
Aggregate AI-visit counts — anonymous daily totals of visits referred by AI assistants. No personal data and no individual visitor identifiers are stored.
How we use it
Calculate your AI Visibility Score and prioritized fix list.
Generate and serve your llms.txt file and JSON-LD structured data.
Monitor whether AI crawlers can reach your store and alert you to regressions.
Attribute orders and revenue to AI-assistant referrals (optional, Pro).
Send you the dashboard, optional weekly digest and service emails.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising.
We do not collect customer personal data (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses).
We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal effects on customers.
Storage, security & retention
Data is stored on a private, access-restricted server and transmitted over encrypted
connections (HTTPS/TLS). We keep data only as long as needed — by default up to
365 days — after which it is automatically deleted. When you uninstall the app, your
data is removed in line with Shopify’s mandatory data-redaction requests.
Third parties
Shopify — the platform that hosts your store and provides the data above under your authorization.
AI / LLM provider (optional) — if you enable the AI Citation Checker, the prompts you configure and your store’s brand name are sent to the AI provider you’ve connected, solely to check whether your store is mentioned. No customer data is sent.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time. We honor
Shopify’s customers/data_request, customers/redact and
shop/redact requests. To make a request, email us at the address below.
Cookies
On storefronts that enable our app embed, a single first-party cookie remembers (for up to
90 days) whether a visit arrived from an AI assistant, so a later order can be attributed.
It stores no personal data and is not used for advertising.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The “last updated” date above will always reflect the current version.
